Rainfall Frequency Analysis

Rainfall frequency analysis performed by FLODRO 4.0 is performed by 7 different probability distribution functions, namely:

1) Normal distribution

2) Log-Normal 2-parameter distribution

3) Log-Normal 3-parameter distribution

4) Gamma distribution

5) Pearson type III distribution

6) Log-Pearson type III distribution

7) Extreme value type I distribution

8) General extreme value distribution

The parameters of every probability distribution function is evaluated by the method of moments and by the method of maximum likelihood, in the case of the extreme value type I distribution and the general extreme value distribution the method of probability weighted moments is available, too.

A summary table is produced by FLODRO 4.0 containing design events and  confidence limits for several return periods for a given confidence level.

Several graphs are produced by FLODRO 4.0, like a model and data graph using Gumbel's paper, comparison between the probability density function and empirical data frequency.
